The last time I talked to moca, she wanted to get pancakes in Yokohama. So to hear that she was craving ramen was a shock! In any case, it’s been almost a week since we last met up and since we had already planned to go to Yokohama today, where else would I take her but Yoshimura-ya–the originators of Iekei-style ramen.
Yup, this is where Iekei all started back in 1974.
I’ve said it before that I’m not a huge fan of Iekei, but I could easily eat this ramen on a regular basis.
This is Iekei at its finest!
Ramen down, now for some pancakes!
I’d have to say, Yokohama is beautiful at night. The 30 min walk from Yokohama station to the Red Brick Warehouse on an unusually cool summer night was fantastic.
Speaking of fantastic, the Berry Berry Pancakes with Berry Butter at Bills were also just that. It was almost like a pancake/french toast hybrid.
After all that food, a long, peaceful walk through Yamashita Park was just what we needed. Did I hear a whale?
On a sad note, moca has decided to go back to the states in a couple months so this could be one of the last few times we get to hang out. In any case, I’ve made a friend for life and I wish her the best of luck.
