I’ve told you about the phenomenon that surrounds a bowl of ramen from Eifukucho Taishoken (ET) before, but the assistant had never experienced said bowl. This needed to change quickly. For a bowl from here is now considered one of my favorites. With winter in full effect, ET has started attracting lines of people around the clock. I’m telling you, the smell just draws you in.
The bowl is massive and extremely hot, but the assistant began to tackle it with no fear.
I have the utmost respect for this bowl. It gets better and better each time I slurp it. Today I decided to go with the Chashumen and a raw egg.
The raw egg is definitely the way to go.
Here’s what I like to do: add some rayu, sprinkle a little pepper, pour in some ramen soup, and slurp it like tsukemen. Damn I can still taste it.
Warning: ET’s bowl is huge. Make sure you get there hungry cuz they don’t let you choose less noodles or etc. What you order is what you get. And don’t be afraid to leave it unfinished. They’d much rather you do that than mess up their flow with a custom order.
Being so full from ET, I didn’t think I could eat for the rest of the night. But I was wrong.
Tom Yum was calling me.
Ramen in the press!
